1. About the service
Filmsbókin, the production and crew directory, is a public directory operated by the Faroese Film Institute to make it easier to find film professionals and companies that serve the Faroese film industry. Searching and applying for a profile are free of charge.
2. Who may have a profile?
A person profile is intended for a working professional who:
- lives in the Faroe Islands, regularly works in the Faroese film industry, or has a clear professional connection to it;
- has at least one relevant role; and
- can provide a professional contact, credit, or portfolio.
A company profile is intended for a Faroese company or one that regularly provides relevant services in the Faroe Islands. The representative must be authorised to act for the company. The Faroese Film Institute decides borderline cases.
3. Your responsibilities
When you create or manage a profile, you confirm that:
- the information is accurate, current, and not misleading;
- you are authorised to represent the person or company;
- you have the necessary rights and permissions for text, images, logos, and other material;
- the contact details you select as public may be shown to anyone online;
- you will update or withdraw the profile when it is no longer accurate.
You are responsible for activity through your account and must protect your sign-in details.
4. Submission and publication
Drafts are private. A profile is not published until you submit it, accept the required declarations, and the Faroese Film Institute approves that version.
A new change remains private while it is reviewed; the most recently approved version may remain public. The Faroese Film Institute may correct clear language or content errors, request changes, reject, suspend, or remove a profile from the directory.
5. Prohibited material
You must not submit material that:
- is unlawful, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, or unsafe;
- infringes copyright, trade marks, privacy, or other rights;
- is false, misleading, irrelevant, or promotes unlawful services;
- contains malicious code, unnecessary personal data, or spam.
The Faroese Film Institute may remove such material without notice where necessary for safety, rights, or legal compliance.
6. Public contact channels
Each email address, telephone number, and link stays private until you choose to publish them. Public information may be viewed, stored, or used by others outside this service, so consider carefully which channels you choose to show.
7. Changes, withdrawal, and deletion
You may edit a profile, request a correction, or withdraw it from the public directory. A verified request to hide a profile will be handled as soon as practical. Account and data deletion requests are handled under our privacy notice and applicable legal requirements.
The Faroese Film Institute may remove an outdated profile from public view after notice if its owner does not confirm the information.
8. Other websites and relationships
The directory displays information supplied by profile owners and may link to other websites. The Faroese Film Institute is not responsible for the content, security, or availability of those websites.
The Faroese Film Institute is not a party to agreements between visitors and listed professionals or companies and does not guarantee price, availability, ability, or work results. The parties must verify and agree those matters themselves.
9. Operation and availability
We aim to keep the service secure and available but cannot promise uninterrupted access. The Faroese Film Institute may change, suspend, or take parts of the service offline for maintenance, security, or legal compliance.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms when the service, legal requirements, or our procedures change. The date above shows the latest version. We may notify registered users of significant changes.
Questions, reports, or complaints may be sent to ffi@ffi.fo or to the Faroese Film Institute, Vestara Bryggja 15, 3rd floor, 100 Tórshavn, Faroe Islands.
